2:30 PM — Getting Into Your Dress

3:00 PM — First Look & Couple Portraits

A first look creates a private moment together before the celebration begins. It gives you a chance to slow down, hold hands, laugh, cry, and remind each other: we’re really doing this. It also allows more time for portraits without feeling like you’re missing your cocktail hour.

3:45 PM — Wedding Party Portraits

Your closest friends and family have been part of this journey, and these photos become memories you’ll treasure for years. Keeping these portraits before the ceremony means everyone can relax and enjoy the celebration afterward.

4:30 PM — Family Portraits

Gathering family before the ceremony allows you to spend more of your reception celebrating instead of coordinating portraits. A little planning here creates a much smoother experience for everyone.

5:00 PM — Ceremony

5:30 PM — Cocktail Hour

Because your portraits are already complete, you can actually be present. Enjoy the food and drinks. Hug your guests. Take in the room you spent so much time creating.

6:30 PM — Reception Begins

9:30 PM — Photography Coverage Ends

Tips for Creating a Wedding Timeline That Feels Effortless

If possible, choose getting ready locations close to your ceremony venue. Less travel means more time for the moments that matter.

As you photographer, I assist in timeline creation, but it's also important to share it with your planner, hair and makeup team, wedding party, and family. They should all know the plan! A clear timeline allows everyone to do their part so you can simply enjoy.
